Lead Encapsulation & Material Removal
Lead-safe work methods selected around the property, the component, the inspection findings, and applicable Massachusetts requirements.
Encapsulation, controlled removal, and replacement.
Not every lead-painted surface should be handled the same way. The correct method depends on the inspection findings, component condition, accessibility, project classification, and the compliance goal.
Encapsulation
Encapsulation seals an eligible lead-painted surface beneath a specialized coating or system. It is generally most useful on stable, suitable surfaces and is not a universal substitute for removal or replacement.
Material removal & replacement
When a component is unsuitable for encapsulation or replacement is part of the approved scope, the work can involve controlled removal, containment, debris management, and installation of replacement materials.
Windows & doors
Replacement can address both a lead-painted component and a broader energy/renovation goal when included in the scope.
Trim & architectural components
Project methods are selected around condition, accessibility, and required hazard correction.
Painted surfaces
Eligible surfaces may be repaired, prepared, encapsulated, removed, or otherwise corrected depending on the documented requirements.
